Experience

Swantje Mackuth received her primary law degree in Germany, where she specialized in Intellectual Property Law, including European Unfair Competition Law. While in Germany Ms. Mackuth worked as a Legal Assistant for a German law firm, where she conducted legal research and engaged in trial preparation. Ms. Mackuth also interned in Germany with the Public Prosecutors Office, the Joint Administration, and the Administrative Court, under the supervision of an administrative judge.

After earning her J.D. equivalent (Erstes juristisches Staatsexamen) in Germany, Ms. Mackuth obtained her Master’s in U.S. Law (LL.M.) from Santa Clara University with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law. Subsequent to her U.S. law studies, Ms. Mackuth worked as a Law Clerk under an attorney, specializing in Internet Law, where her main focus centered on trial preparation for Intellectual Property cases before a federal court.

While at Inhouse Co. Ms. Mackuth has prepared a breach of contract case in state court that involved several hundred thousand dollars and a federal copyright case involving a multimillion dollar claim. In addition, she has drafted a complaint for a real estate case involving fraudulent transfers, as well as a complaint involving a trademark dispute. Further, Ms. Mackuth has prepared discovery and has assisted in preparation for litigation. She has also prepared several trademark filings and correspondence with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Ms. Mackuth’s native language is German. She further possesses the ability to read, speak, and comprehend Russian.
